So I haven’t really had a lot of time to do my nails recently so I have been generally going for just a plain polish , but today I decided to add a little something extra to make them stand out but that can be done in seconds!
I just did this on one nail, but as you can see its just a series of flicks in black, white, and bright neon pink.
I bought the trio of striper polishes from Penneys (Primark in the UK) and the Purple Nail polish is 132-Break through from Essence.
So I finally caved and made an Instagram account . I don’t usually post any work that I do professionally on here because I like to keep it to simple , easy nail looks that everyone can try or to just show you what kind of brands or colour polish / trends i’m loving.
I’ve just started my account so there is very limited amount of pictures on it (I think like …8…!!!) but i will definitely keep adding more. The majority of the images that will be uploaded will be of gel or shellac nails but I might throw in a few random ones on natural nails every now and then .
Here’s my link to go follow me :
Thank you ,
Hmmm , I havn’t written here in ages!
So I decided to do these pink ombré nails today . It gets gradually darker towards the tip of the nail.
You can use any colour combination you like . I did a base coat of white and chose 4 colours for the gradient effect:
- Wet n’ Wild -French White cream (for the base)
Starting at the cuticle colour, working towards the tip :
- No.7 (stay perfect) – cheeky chops
- Maxfactor (glossfinity) – forever glam
- Essence (Multi-dimension) – Hot stuff
- NYC – Manhattan
How to :
- I first painted a coat of white polish on all my nails and allowed it to dry thoroughly.
- Next, I took a makeup wedge sponge and soaked it with water .
- I then took each colour and painted it onto the sponge in stripes , making sure to overlap each colour slightly.
- When you have that done you just press it into your nails and wait for it to dry. I did this about 3 times for each nail as I thought it wasn’t opaque enough.
- Seal it with a top coat and your all done! (you can also add a sparkle if you like)
I heard of these types of polishes ages ago and just never really tried them out. I picked one up today and gave it a shot. It’s the beauty line in penneys/primark in the UK and Ireland and retails for €1.50! I chose the light pink colour with black/ grey spots.
I really liked the effect it gave and and its something that can’t be acheived so easily with a dotting tool. I really like how the spots differed in size and the way the colours contrasted. The brush was a perfect size and I did two coats to make it quite opaque although you could probably get away with one.
Here it is !
I bought this nail polish not so long ago when I started to see a lot of different textured nail polishes around. The leather effect was new to me and I hadn’t seen it in any other brand.
This particular polish is from the shop ‘Claire’s Accessories ‘ .
On the first coat it was quite opaque but it took until the second coat to really bring out the effect .
At the beginning I really liked it wasn’t long (only a few hours!!!)before I changed my mind .
I applied the nail polish before doing my make up and not long after I had finished I noticed my foundation had left a stain on my nails but not one that could just be washed off . Soon after , I realised that the polish , understanding It had an uneven texture began to snag on my clothes . I took these pictures when the were freshly painted so they look good but its not a great representation of how they looked shortly after (for me anyway !) . I tried applying a top coat which only erased the leather effect look so I know that wont help but if anyone has tried a leather effect polish i’d love to hear your tips!
Sarah Hyland looked amazing at the 2013 Emmys and so did her nails.
She wore emerald green and chose a deep red manicure to compliment the gown. I gave it a go and thought it looked quite elegant and is a simple twist on a normal polish.
You can never go wrong with glitter! This is an easy 5 minute manicure that requires little or no patience but still looks amazing!
All I did was paint my nails and added a coat of sheer glitter polish on top . I did a mix of 3 polishes (pink, green, and orange) just to change it up a bit.
